Global Cannabis Partnership Opens Up New Member Category
New category invites greater collaboration in development of Responsible Cannabis Framework
Saint John, NB (September 6, 2018) – The Global Cannabis Partnership (GCP) is now open to receive applications for its newly formed broader membership category. The new Member category builds on the 16 Founding Members of the GCP, and welcomes cannabis-focused organizations interested in contributing to a worldwide corporate social responsibility standard for adult-use retail cannabis.
“The new Member category invites more government agencies, licensed producers, national associations, industry partners and community groups from the global cannabis industry to offer their insight and expertise as we develop the Responsible Cannabis Framework,” says Lara Wood, GM, Cannabis NB and Chair of the GCP Advisory Board. “Through further inclusion and collaboration, we will achieve our vision of setting a standard for responsible practices in the growing cannabis industry.”
All GCP members must demonstrate leadership within the cannabis industry, including a commitment to operating in a socially responsible manner and adhering to the Responsible Cannabis Framework. Members will have direct input into the development of the Responsible Cannabis Framework, a worldwide social responsibility standard. Members benefit from sharing of best practices, research, thought leadership and networking.
The Partnership is under the executive direction of CSR expert Kim Wilson. Her priorities are to oversee the development and implementation of the Responsible Cannabis Framework and to also advance the collective social responsibility efforts of members with one unified voice.
Founding Members of the GCP were announced on June 12, 2018 at the World Cannabis Congress and represent a cross-section of organizations that play – or will play – a role in the legal, adult-use recreational cannabis supply chain. They include: Cannabis NB, Canopy Growth, Aphria, The Green Organic Dutchman, GreenStar Brands, High Park Company, Up Cannabis, MedReleaf, Cansortium Holdings, T4G Limited, McCarthy Tétrault LLP, EY, PwC Canada, Cannabis Compliance Inc., Civilized and Business of Cannabis. Revolution Strategy is the Founder and Managing Partner of the GCP.
